The trout & resident steelhead fishing from Redding down to Los Molinos is heating up.  Plenty of food coming down the river during these high flows.  The fish are hitting hard on plugs, spoons, and flies in the riffles and shallow water.  Trips will continue to run all year long.

Shad fishing on the Sacramento River is pretty much over.  The high flows have scattered the fish and covered spawning grounds with 2-3 more feet of water.  There are a few fish below the Red Bluff diversion dam, but it should be over by the middle of the month.  I will continue to run trips until the middle of July.

The stripers are beginning to come into the river system hot and heavy from Red Bluff down to Colusa.  The fish have been stacked behind the snags, poding up in the deep pools, and craving any minnow type ditty.  Throwing stick baits in the inlet creeks and running top water in the flat pools has brought some pure excitement to trips lately.  The fish are hitting hard right now.  I will continue to run trips into early September.

Wild boar hunting trips are still going strong in the Red Bluff area.  The hogs are congregating in the summer watering holes in the early morning and late evening.  I will continue to run hunts throughout the year.

Salmon season on the Sacramento River will be offered for a 1 month period in the month of October from Anderson down to Red Bluff.  This could be a great year on the river!
