The cold weather has set in and the steelhead
and trout fishing continues to thrive.Fishing trips continue to produce about 10 to 20 hook-ups per
trip with many good sized fish being caught. The fishing has been excellent from Anderson near
the I-5 Bridge up to the Sundial Bridge in Redding. The river conditions below the Deschutes Bridge continue to change due to
the large feeder creeks that enter the river below the bridge. Local rains have brought some much needed water into some of the previously dry streams that enter the river system. The best methods have been running
spoons in the shallow water, and side drifting glow bugs and flies in the
larger riffles. The fly fishing continues to be good with fish biting on a variety of stonefly and
nymph patterns. You can go to fishingguidenow.com and see what days I have
available, or call to get the low down.
The wild boar hunting has been good. The pigs have been spread out in the open fields grazing on fresh grass and eating acorns. Since the recent rains, large boars have been traveling the deep drainage's and canyons looking for large groups of pigs. Call me for availability and dates. Hunts will be available for 1 or 2 days.
