Salmon Fishing on the Sacramento River

CLOTHING- Clothing for the right weather conditions is necessary. Conditions can change so make sure you check the local weather before your trip. Winter trips can be cold, please plan ahead with the proper gear. The weather is very warm in the summer. We have a sun canopy which helps with the heat, but sunscreen and protective clothing is key to a comfortable day on the water.

FOOD- A lunch or a snack plus drinks are necessary unless provided. A lunch can be requested for an additional charge. Call for details.

LICENSE- If you are fishing, you will need a California Resident or a Non Resident fishing license. Licenses can be purchased for a single day or for 1 year.

TAGS- If you are fishing on the Sacramento River for Trout or Steelhead you will need a steelhead punch card.

If you are planning on a fly fishing trip, you will need to bring a 8 to 9 weight fly rod with a good heavy action. Gear can be provided for the trip upon request and flies are always included with your trip. I offer Drift Boat trips for year round Trout fishing and seasonal Steelhead fishing on the Sacramento River. Waders are not needed and not recommended.

Seth's Guide Service offers Salmon fishing trips on the Sacramento River & Feather River between July & November. All of the bait and gear for the trips is provided and included in the cost. For Salomon, we back bounce plugs & roe, side drift bait, and boone doggle roe. The limit is 2 fish per person and we can accommodate 3-4 people. The fishing really heats up in late August and September, so booking ahead is key to getting a spot on the boat. We are expecting a great year of fishing in 2026, and are thankful to be able to fish for Salmon again.

Striped Bass fishing trips are offered between May and September on the Sacramento & Feather River. The limit is 2 fish per person with an 18" minimum size limit. Bait for the trip can be an additional fee. Trips are offered from Red Bluff down to Colusa. We can accommodate up to 3 people per trip.
